No Clinical Relationship Without Intake
A clinical relationship with Willow & Arbor PLLC begins only when a formal intake process has been completed and both the client and the practice have agreed to begin treatment. Submitting a contact form, attending a free consultation, or communicating with our office does not establish a clinical relationship.
Scope of Services
Willow & Arbor PLLC provides outpatient psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, families, children, and adolescents in Tennessee. Services are provided in person in Johnson City, Tennessee and via telehealth to residents of Tennessee.
Willow & Arbor PLLC does not provide:
- Psychiatric medication evaluation or management
- Psychological testing or formal neuropsychological assessment
- Inpatient or residential mental health services
- Crisis intervention or emergency mental health services
- Forensic evaluation or court-ordered assessment
- Intensive outpatient or partial hospitalization programs
If your situation requires a higher level of care than outpatient therapy, we will work with you to identify appropriate resources.
Clinician Credential and Supervision Disclosure
Therapy services at Willow & Arbor PLLC are provided by clinicians holding Tennessee LPC-Associate (Licensed Professional Counselor — Associate) licenses with Mental Health Service Provider (MHSP) designation. Associate licensure indicates that the clinician has completed graduate training in mental health counseling and is working toward full licensure under the supervision of a licensed supervisor.
All clinicians at Willow & Arbor PLLC practice under the direct clinical supervision of Dr. Katherine Barteck, a licensed psychologist. Clinical supervision is an active, ongoing part of the care model at this practice. It involves regular case review, consultation, and clinical oversight of all client care provided by associate-licensed clinicians.
If you have questions about the credential or supervision status of any clinician, ask us directly.
No Guarantee of Outcome
Therapy can be helpful. Its helpfulness depends on many factors, including the nature and severity of the concern being addressed, the client's engagement in the process, and the fit between the client and the clinician. We do not guarantee any particular outcome.
Confidentiality and Its Limits
Information shared in therapy is confidential. There are legal and ethical exceptions to confidentiality that will be explained fully at intake and in the informed consent documentation you receive before beginning treatment. These exceptions generally include:
- Risk of harm to yourself or others
- Suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or vulnerable adult
- Court order or legal requirement
- Other circumstances required by applicable law

Telehealth Limitations
Telehealth services are available to Tennessee residents only. Telehealth therapy is not available to individuals located outside of Tennessee at the time of service.
Emergency Limitations
Willow & Arbor PLLC does not provide 24-hour crisis or emergency response. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please use emergency services rather than attempting to contact this practice.

Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before beginning services. A Good Faith Estimate will be provided to you as part of the intake process. If you receive a bill substantially higher than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute that bill. For questions, contact us directly or visit cms.gov/nosurprises.
Insurance
Willow & Arbor PLLC is a private-pay practice. We do not bill insurance directly. Because our clinicians hold associate licenses, reimbursement through most insurance plans is generally not available. Current session fees are listed on our fees page.
