Session fees
Rates for therapy at Willow & Arbor in Johnson City, TN vary by therapist and by type of appointment. You'll know what to expect before scheduling your first session.
All Willow & Arbor therapists practice under the active clinical supervision of Dr. Katherine Barteck, a licensed psychologist.
A private-pay model, by design.
Willow & Arbor is a private-pay, self-pay practice. That's a structural decision about how the practice is organized, not just a billing arrangement.
Private pay means therapy here isn't organized around diagnosis requirements or insurer authorizations. The work can follow what's actually happening and continue as long as it's useful.
Willow & Arbor doesn't bill insurance directly. Payment is handled directly through the practice for each session.
No diagnosis required to begin: you don't need a mental health diagnosis to start therapy. The consultation is a conversation about fit.
No session limits: care isn't governed by what an insurer will authorize. Sessions continue as long as they're clinically useful and you choose to continue.
Privacy: no insurance claim means no mental health diagnosis is submitted to a third-party insurer as part of payment.

How often do people attend?
There's no standard schedule. Some people attend weekly, particularly early in therapy or when something acute is happening. Others come every other week as things stabilize. Some attend less frequently over time as the work shifts.
The schedule depends on what's bringing you in, what's clinically useful, and what's sustainable for you. It's something to sort out in the consultation and revisit as therapy progresses, not something that gets decided for you in advance.
Payment
Payment is handled directly through Willow & Arbor. You'll receive payment information before your first appointment.
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before your first appointment. Willow & Arbor provides this before care begins.
Cancellations
Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled without charge with at least 24 hours notice.
No-shows and cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may be charged half the session fee. This policy will be reviewed with you before care begins.
